Why Compliance Matters

Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans:

Facilities with ASTs must develop SPCC plans to prevent oil spills and control measures if a spill occurs. This includes secondary containment and regular inspections (US EPA) (FedCenter).
Release Detection for USTs:

USTs must have systems in place to detect leaks, such as tank tightness testing, automatic tank gauging (ATG), and interstitial monitoring for tanks installed after April 11, 2016 (US EPA).
Secondary Containment

Both ASTs and USTs must have secondary containment systems to capture spills or leaks. This includes dikes, berms, or double-walled tanks (US EPA) (FedCenter).
